“Working with Lara was a pleasure from the start - her communication skills won over the selection panel as well as her enthusiasm for her work and working with others.

She met with various stakeholders and consulted/ facilitated workshops with pupils, keeping good relationships with everyone at all times. Having done the research she developed the design proposal and presented that to a group of local adults and teenagers. During this meeting there was a lively discussion about the use of the Welsh language in the artwork (they thought there was too much of it) but Lara was not phased and supported me in gaining agreement and consensus to include some Welsh.The final artwork is well-made and installed and is a beautiful and positive addition to Mill Park.I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Lara again.”

“Lara became involved with East Barnet School and the Design & Technology Student Design Team when designing the gates for our new school. This collaboration enabled students to be involved in the development of initial design ideas through to manufacture and installation. The creativity and innovation Lara brought to the project was inspiring and her final vision now graces the entrance to our school.

Lara has since become ‘Designer in residence’ at East Barnet School, working alongside students on design projects around the school. The ‘Wall of Wonder’ being a fantastic example of innovative and creative design with an educational emphasis. Lara liaised with the students, staff and the senior leadership team to explore ideas and create something that is stunning to see in action. She works extremely well with students from all years, continuing to devise exciting design projects as part of our enrichment program.

“Lara created a beautiful art installation along our external fence, transforming the approach to the school.  She engaged the children in the process from design to completion, including visiting assemblies to show the work in progress and facilitating a visit to the studio for some children to see the individual pieces being made.  

As the creation was installed, more children were able to view the work first hand and appreciate the project growing. We are all delighted with the result and the clever choice of materials ensures that we will be able to enjoy it for years to come.

“Working with Lara to put the finishing touches to our community-led pocket-park redevelopment was a complete joy. Lara worked with us to get to the essence of how we felt about Percy Road Park, designing bespoke artwork that mirrored the context of the park and its diverse and welcoming community.
